At DeerTraders, we recognize that you have many options when it comes to choosing the most cost-effective way to brand your business and sell your products and services. It most cases, it only makes good business sense to utilize a combination of efforts. If an Auction Company, Trade Magazine, Trade Show or Internet Service tells you that you should deal exclusively with them…then you can rest assured that they are far more interested in making money from you...than for you.

Auctions – How it Works!
The DeerTraders online auction combines the best features of a ‘brick & mortar’ fixed location auction; as well as, the speed, availability and convenience of an Internet auction. The seller places each auction item into 1 of 8 suggested “Minimum Bid” categories or enters a “Minimum Bid” of their choosing from one dollar ($1.00) to one million dollars ($1,000,000.00). All bids are in pre-determined increments and the incremental bid amount is different for each “Minimum Bid’ category. The same way that a seller has complete control of setting a minimum bid, they can set any amount as the incremental bid amount, or they can select one of the suggested incremental bid amounts. The suggested minimum bid categories and the corresponding pre-determined bid amounts are:

As a convenience, the DeerTrader Auction System allows the “bidder” to make either a 1x minimum bid or enter a “maximum bid” amount and the system will make bids for you up to your maximum bid amount (Proxy Bidding). Either way, you will automatically receive emails advising you of any bids made by the system on your behalf as well as any other changes to you bid status.
1. Auction Schedule: There is always an auction in progress on the DeerTraders website. There are 52 auctions each year and each auction lasts for 1 week.
a) Bidding for the current week’s auction begins at 12:00 AM Sunday (Eastern) and ends at 10:00 PM Saturday (Eastern).
b) Consignments can be made to either the current week's auction or to the next week's auction (future auction). As you create an auction you are asked to choose either 1) Current Auction or 2) Future Auction.
c) Consignments, for the current week’s auction, can be made up until 3:00 PM Friday afternoon (Eastern).
d) Consignments to future auctions can be made 1 week in advance.
NOTE: THERE IS A TAB AT THE TOP OF ALL AUCTION PAGES THAT ALLOWS THE VIEWER TO SWITCH BETWEEN CURRENT AUCTIONS AND FUTURE AUCTIONS. ONLY CURRENT AUCTIONS WILL DISPLAY THE BID NOW OPTION.
2. Bid Requirement: You must be a DeerTrader member and be logged in to the system to buy or consign using the DeerTraders auction program.
3. Cost: Success Fees are a function of the individual seller’s membership level.
NOTE: THERE IS NEVER AN AUCTION CONSIGNMENT FEE. GOLD and PLATINUM MEMBERS NEVER PAY A SUCCESS FEE and BRONZE MEMBERS ONLY PAY A SUCCESS FEE IF THEIR ITEM SELLS.
Note: DeerTraders Auction Fees are significantly lower than any other place in the industry.

4. Buyer Payment: Buyers have two payment options available.
· Credit Card – With a 3% Additional Fee
· ACH Bank Draft – With No Additional Fee
5. Seller Settlement: Sellers have 2 settlement options available.
· ACH Bank Draft – With No Additional Fee
· PayPal Account Credit – With No Additional Fee
Note: Sellers are paid within three (3) business days of the “close of auction”.
Classifieds – How it Works!
The Classified Advertiser has 2 types of ads to choose from: a ‘Standard Classified’ whereby the buyer contacts the seller directly based on information contained in the advertisement and a ‘Buy Now Classified’ whereby DeerTraders collects payment from the buyer and pays the seller, less a fee.
1. Classified Schedule: Standard classifieds display for 60 days, or until they are removed or renewed. “Buy Now” classifieds display for 60 days; or until removed, renewed or sold. Renewal periods for all classifieds are for 60 days.
NOTE: There is never a charge to renew a classified ad, regardless of classified type (standard or Buy Now) or membership level (Bronze, Gold or Platinum).
2. Requirement: You must be a DeerTrader member and be logged in to the system to post a classified of any type or buy using the DeerTraders ‘Buy Now’ option.
3. Cost: “Buy Now” Fees are a function of the individual seller’s membership level.
a) Gold and Platinum Members – No Listing Fee and No Success Fee
NOTE: A GOLD OR PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES AN UNLIMITED NUMBER OF STANDARD CLASSIFIED LISTINGS OR “BUY NOW CLASSIFIEDS”
b) Bronze Member – 5% Success Fee with a Maximum of $250 per “Buy Now" Transaction…plus a $20 listing fee for either a Standard Classified or a “Buy Now” Classified.
4. ‘Buy Now’ Buyer Payment: There are 2 payment options available.
· Credit Card – With a 3% Additional Fee
· ACH Bank Draft – With No Additional Fee
5. ‘Buy Now’ Seller Settlement: There are 2 settlement options available.
· ACH Bank Draft – With No Additional Fee
· PayPal Account Credit – With No Additional Fee
Note: Sellers are paid within three (3) business days of the “Date of Purchase”.

MY ACCOUNT
A. To Change Password
1. First, go to user menu, and then next go to my account, then my profile.
2. Enter a new password and confirm by entering the new password a second time.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click save before exiting the screen.
B. To review membership level and type
1. First, go to user menu, and then next go to my account, then my membership.
· The top area shows what type of membership you currently have.
· The bottom area shows what directory profiles you currently have.
C. To change membership level or add/delete multiple profiles
1. First, go to user menu, and then next go to my account, then change membership.
2. First, select each of the appropriate Business Types (Breeding Farm, Hunting Ranch, Product Provider, and Service Provider) that match your business model and are large enough for you to promote individually.
3. Review the different levels of membership available. Select the level of service (bronze, gold or platinum) by clicking on sign up button below the membership level you have determined best fits your advertising needs.
a. If you selected the free bronze membership, your profile is instantly registered, and you can immediately log in and complete your profile information.
b. If you have chosen the low-cost gold or platinum membership with unlimited “free” classified and auction advertising, as well as special discounts; you will be directed to the checkout page and prompted for payment information. Enter your payment information and then click continue.
MY FARM PROFILE
A. To Build a Farm Profile
1. First, go to user menu, and then next go to “My Farm Profile” and then to “Farm Profile”.
2. Enter information in any available fields.
3. Enter information to personalize your business in the text box under “About Farm”. You may choose to change colors text size and font type in this text box.
4. Scroll down to “Best-Known For” and select ALL of the Species you raise on your farm. Under “Also-Known For” select ALL of the available options that best describe your farm’s products/services. It is important that you select ALL Options that apply to your business for the System Search Function to work effectively.
5. To upload a farm profile picture ( under “Main Photo/Logo Image”),
a. To upload a picture from your computer hard drive: click on “browse my desktop”. Next Click “choose file”. Search your computer hard drive and locate the main photo/logo. Click on that file and then click “open”. The File will be listed beside “choose file button”, next Click “upload”.
b. To select a photo previously uploaded, and stored to your account. Click “browse my archive”, then (browse) directly under “browse my archive”. Click on the appropriate picture title, then click “select image and continue”. Picture should display if uploaded properly. Click save and continue to add unlimited pictures to your gallery.
Note: Pictures will display; if they are the correct size and formatted properly. Picture files must be a minimum resolution of 500x450, and must be in JPG, GIF, BMP, or PNG format.
6. Under Affiliations, select the various national and state organizations you are a member of by using the drop down menu. You can select up to eight affiliations, and the organization’s logo will automatically display on your profile.
7. After completing your farm profile information, Click “Save” at the bottom of the page. If you do not save your work, then it will be lost and you will be required to enter the information again.
B. Upload videos to your profile’s video gallery
1. On the user menu, you first go to “My Farm Profile”. Next, you click the “videos” tab. You then enter, or copy and paste a link (embedded code representing the video’s address on the video host’s server). Next, you enter a brief description of the video. Click on date box and select a date from the calendar. Click “add new”. Continue to add an unlimited number of videos to your profile
2. To edit titles or date on videos in gallery, click “edit” to the far right of the thumbnail displayed. Enter updated information and then click “save”.
3. To remove a video from your gallery, click the “delete” button at the far right of the thumbnail associated with the video desired. Next, you confirm this action by clicking the “delete” button a second time.
C. Upload pictures to your profile’s photo gallery
1. First go to your user menu, and then next go to “My Farm Profile”. Click the “pictures” tab. Click on the date box and select the appropriate date from the calendar. Next, enter a brief description or caption.
2. To select a picture stored on your computer. Click on “browse my desktop”. Next, you click on “choose file”. Then you search your computer’s hard drive to find the main photo/logo. Next, you click on that file desired and then you click on open. The File will be listed beside the “choose file button”. You then click “upload”. The picture should display if uploaded properly. Click save and continue to add unlimited pictures to your gallery. Click “update” when finished
3. To select a photo previously uploaded, and stored to your account. Click “browse my archive”, then (browse) directly under “browse my archive” . Click on the appropriate picture title, then click “select image and continue”. Picture should display if uploaded properly. Click save and continue to add unlimited pictures to your gallery.
· Files must be a minimum resolution of 500x450, and must be in JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG format. Photo display best if cropped to square.
· Uploaded Pictures are re-ordered by clicking on the cross bars to the left of the thumbnail display and then dragging the photos to display in the order you wish them to appear on your profile. Click “save” when you are finished.
4. To edit titles or picture dates in your gallery, click “edit” to the far right of the thumbnail representing the picture you wish to edit. Enter the updated information and then “click” save”.
5. To remove a picture from your gallery, click “delete” to the far right of the thumbnail representing the picture you wish to delete. Next, you confirm this action by clicking the “delete” button.
D. To build a Deer Profile
1. First, go to your user menu, and then next you go to “My Farm Profile”. Then you click on “Add New Deer Profile”.
a. Under “Add Deer Details”, you enter information in any available fields.
b. Under “Description”, you enter specific details about the deer.
c. Next, you add “Photos, Videos, and Other information” as desired.
2. To add a Main Deer Profile Photo
a. First, click on the “Photos” tab.
b. Then enter a brief description or caption for picture you are uploading.
c. To select a picture previously stored on your computer. Click on “browse my desktop”. Then click on “choose file”. Next, search your computer hard drive to locate the main photo/logo desired. Click on that file and then click open. The File will be listed beside the “choose file button”. Click “upload”. The Picture should display if uploaded properly. Next, click “update”
d. To select a photo previously uploaded, and stored to your account. Click “browse my archive”, then (browse) directly under “browse my archive”. Click on the appropriate picture title, then click “select image and continue”. Picture should display if uploaded properly. Click “update”
· Files must be a minimum resolution of 500x450, and must be in JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG format.
· Photos display best if cropped to a “square”.
3. To add a video to a Deer profile
a. First, click the “video” tab.
b. Enter, or copy and paste a link of embedded code,.
c. Add a brief description of the video.
d. Click on date box and select a date from the calendar.
e. Click “add new”.
f. Continue to add unlimited videos to your profile.
4. Add “Watch em Grow™” pictures to your deer profile
a. Click on the date box and select the correct date from calendar
b. Enter a brief description or caption for the picture selected
c. To select a picture stored on your computer. Click on “browse my desktop”. Then click “choose file”. Next, search your computer’s hard drive to locate the main photo/logo. Click on that file, and then click “open”. The File will be listed beside the “choose file button”. Click “upload”. The Picture should display if uploaded properly. Then click the “save” button.
d. To select a photo previously uploaded and stored to your account. click “browse my archive” and then (browse) directly under “browse my archive”. Click on the appropriate picture title, then click “select image and continue”. Picture should display if uploaded properly. Click “update”.
e. Continue to add photos highlighting your Buck’s antler growth throughout the season. Enter your photos in ascending order, form the earliest to latest.
· Files must be a minimum resolution of 500x450, and must be in JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG format.
· Photos display best if they are cropped to square.
5. To add scores to your deer profile
a. Enter antler score as of the end of the growing season
b. Select age of deer at time of scoring
c. Click “submit”
E. To edit deer profile
a. On the user menu, first you go to “My Farm Profile” and then “My Deer”.
b. Click “edit” below the profile picture of the deer information to be changed.
c. Click on the tab at the top of the profile that corresponds to the information you want to update.
d. Follow the instructions for “creating a deer profile” to make changes.
F. To delete a deer profile
a. On the user menu go to “My Farm Profile” then “My Deer”.
b. Click delete below the profile picture of the deer information you wish to delete. Confirm this action and click “delete”.
To post a classified advertisements
A. On the user menu, you first go to “Classified Ads”.
B. You then click on “post a new ad”.
C. Next, you select “add a new classified”.
D. Select a main category for your listing.
E. Select a sub category for your listing.
F. Enter a title for your advertisement (max 38 characters and spaces).
G. Enter a description(max 2000 characters and spaces).
H. Enter tags or keywords to allow for more complete search results
I. Enter a price if applicable
J. Confirm that your contact and location information is correct. Edit as needed.
K. Select “deer breed” under additional information if applicable.
L. Enter pedigree information if applicable.
M. Click “next step”.
N. Photo and File Upload on a classified ad
1. Click on “gallery”
2. Enter a title to correspond with photo to be uploaded
3. Click “choose a file”, then locate and select a picture the appropriate picture. Click “open”
4. Locate the appropriate photo beside the “choose file” tab. Then click “save”.
5. Photos display at the bottom. Select and click on the correct picture.
6. Continue the process to add up to 8 different photos with each ad
7. Tip: You can change the order of the images by clicking and dragging on the title bar for that image slot. You can use this technique to switch out your lead photo. This action determines which picture displays as a thumbnail when users browse your advertisement.
8. Click “continue”.
9. To add additional classified ads, click “Add New Classified”.
10. To complete the post of an ad:
a. Preview the ad, review the charges (bronze only - gold and platinum members have unlimited free classifieds) and click checkout
b. Bronze members are directed to the checkout page and prompted for their payment information. Please enter and click continue
O. To edit classified
1. On user menu, go to “classified ads” , then to current ads
2. Click “Manage this listing” below the ad to be edited
3. Click on the edit button
4. Choose what information is to be edited, make appropriate changes
5. Click “finished editing”
P. To delete an add
1. On the user menu, go to “classified ads” and then to current ads.
2. Click “Manage this listing” below the ad to be deleted.
3. Click the delete button, with the red X.
4. Enter a brief reason why the ad is to be removed
5. Click “remove listing”
Q. To review ad statistics
1. On the user menu, go to “classified ads” and then to current ads to view how many times an individual ad has been viewed
2. On the user menu, go to ‘classified ads” and then to ad & profile statistics to view how many ads have been posted and sold
